Updated: Feb 14

Lucid dreaming can help a variety of mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and nightmare disorder. There are mental health conditions that lucid dreaming isn’t proven to either help or harm including ADHD, borderline personality disorder, and OCD as there are theories, but not enough research to show the impact of lucid dreaming on them. Lucid dreaming may also harm people with certain mental health disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychosis, dissociative disorder, and schizophrenia. Overall, lucid dreaming will harm disorders that involve delusions and the distrust of what is reality and what isn't, but lucid dreaming has the ability to help disorders involving guilt, sadness, and stress.
