Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD is a mental health condition that affects attention span, general attention, and the ability to follow directions (NAMI). It's most commonly diagnosed in children, but also occurs in adults, and affects many aspects of everyday life (NAMI). Treatments include stimulants, nonstimulants, different types of therapy, and complementary health approaches (Drugs.com), (NAMI). Side effects differ for each medication (Drugs.com). Some have no common side effects (while they still have uncommon and rare side effects), and others have numerous common side effects.

Lucid dreaming may theoretically help ADHD by providing the environment to practice for longer attention spans. The person in the lucid dream could practice focusing on a specific task for the period of the dream, but this is theoretical, as there is no research proving lucid dreaming’s effect on ADHD.
