OCD and Lucid Dreaming

Obsessive compulsive disorder is characterized by obsessive compulsions that last longer than an hour per day and interfere with daily living (NAMI). Compulsions are repetitive acts that temporarily relieve stress. People may try to not act on the compulsions, but they feel forced (NAMI).

Treatments include physiotherapy (exposure and response therapy), medication (antidepressants such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), and complementary health approaches such as aerobic exercise (drugs.com),(NAMI). Lucid dreaming may not have a large influence, but it may be able to have a similar effect to exposure and response therapy.
